ABOUT RETHINK POLITICS
Climate change will have Darwinian implications for our political systems. The problems we face will respect no borders. They will persecute the carbon-neutral and the greatest polluters alike, with a ferocity that will be both indiscriminate and disproportionate. As the 2009 UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen confirms, climate change forces us to think across not only national but also societal borders.
How will those in the political sphere be compelled to cross borders and rethink not only the methods by which political decisions are made, but also from which sectors of society political suggestions come? How can, trust, responsibility and ethics become important aspects of politics, and how can we form a political system that builds upon these? How can we constructively involve sections of society that have hitherto been neglected by politics, to the benefit of all? How can we cross the border between political action and private responsibility, and create harmony between the two?
We here encourage you to bring forward your ideas and opinions about how we can rethink the political system in order to encounter the problematic of climate change.
